Rick Van Nieuwenhuyse, M.Sc., is President and Chief Executive Officer of NovaGold Resources Inc. Since assuming management of NovaGold in 1998, Rick has assembled a portfolio of world-class properties and a team of top industry professionals who have turned NovaGold into one of North America's fastest growing mining companies, poised to become a mid-tier gold, silver and copper producer. Rick's vision and ability to follow through can be attributed to his 30 years of worldwide experience in the natural resource sector, including time as Vice President of Exploration at Placer Dome. He brings years of working experience and knowledge of Alaska, Western Canada, Africa and Asia, and has managed projects from grassroots discovery through to advanced Feasibility Studies and production. Rick holds a Candidature degree in Science from the Universite de Louvain in Belgium, and an M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Arizona.

Gil joined NovaGold in January 2010 as Senior Advisor to the President of NovaGold and was instrumental in advancing the Company's two core projects, Donlin Gold in Alaska and Galore Creek in British Columbia. Gil was appointed to the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in November 2010. Gil will be responsible for all technical and operating aspects of NovaGold's portfolio of projects. He will work with NovaGold's partners, Barrick Gold U.S. Inc. and Teck Resources Limited, to develop these major projects in a technically and environmentally sound and cost effective manner as the Company works to achieving its primary goal of becoming a low-cost million-ounce-a-year gold producer.

Greg joined NovaGold in 2011 to direct the treasury function and evaluate and participate in all matters related to corporate financing, corporate acquisitions and mergers. He will also focus on building and sustaining effective partnerships with industry, regional contacts, governments, NGOs and other interested parties. Relying on more than 12 years' experience in the areas of finance, business development, corporate and investor relations in the resource industry, Greg is also responsible for enhancing the value of existing assets through successfully built partnerships. He also leads the Communications and Investor Relations team. Previously, Greg held the positions of Assistant Treasurer of Finning International Inc., Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Zincore Metals Inc. and various key strategic positions at Placer Dome for 10 years.

Elaine joined NovaGold in 2003 and has 15 years of experience in audit, finance and accounting with public and private companies. She has been involved with numerous financings and acquisitions, and has listed companies on both the TSX and AMEX. Elaine is responsible for all aspects of financial services, financial reporting and corporate governance. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and is a chartered accountant.
